Member news:
Congratulations to Spencer Page! He was the 2006 Club
Champion at Whitney Oaks! Spencer shot a two-day total of 151 (77-74). Spencer
accomplished this feat playing from the Black Tees at Whitney Oaks. His closest
competitor shot 157 (75-82).
Congratulations to Jon Kaempfer and Tom Baker! They both
made the finals of the NCGA Associate Club Net Amateur Championship. (Tom was
playing for his other club – Bell Golf Club of San Francisco). They both
finished with very respectable scores at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore
Jon had a 147 (74-73) and Tom had a 141 (76-65).
Astonishing but True Golf Fact
The
plucky Brits didn’t let anything as tiresome as the Battle of Britain keep them
off the links. They simply modified the rules. At St. Mellons Golf and Country
Club, players were asked to collect bomb and shell splinters from the fairways
to prevent damage to mowers. Players also noted carefully, at risk of great
personal harm, the red flags marking the position of delayed-action bombs in
the rough.
NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS!
I
hope you all have a WONDERFUL DAY!!!
